This is Patricia S. (Manuel) Meneley better known in school as Patti Manuel. I have a daughter named Michelle, a son named Erick, and a son named Kurt. I also have two grandchildren named Angel and Gage who live in Florida. I am single and a late in life bloomer. I got my Bachelor's Degree in August 2003 in Liberal Studies. I teach Special Education/ TMH (Trainable Mentally Handicapped) at Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster, California. I have completed my preliminary certification at California State University at Bakersfield/Antelope Valley Campus and am working on my clear certification as well as my master's degree in Special education/ moderate to severe. I hope to be finished by the Spring of 2007. I just realized that if I was smart in higher level math and science that I could have been a doctor of medicine as long as it takes to be a teacher in California. Since I intend to work until I drop dead, I guess it doesn't matter because I love what I am doing. The only thing is I swore when I graduated from BSHS in "66" that I was leaving the sand behind and I did for awhile. I spent 13 years in Sarasota, Florida. Then I moved to California and I hate to admit that Lancaster is an awful lot like Big Spring. Oh, well! Anxious to hear more about our sight. Patti |
From Linda Appleton: ...I will be contributing pictures of Ronnie Birrell and myself on our hiking excursion to the Guadalupe Mountains in mid July... |
From Sandy Ivie (Massey) I live in Joshua, near Burleson, just south of Fort Worth. |
From Linda Hamlin (Kellogg) In 2011 we will be soooooo retired and will definitely make plans to get back to Big Spring for the reunion. Ray and I will be celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary in December. Our son, Mike, lives in Kerrville, has an outstanding job and is being pretty picky about choosing a mate. Needless to say, we do not have bragging rights on grandkids yet but our time will come (smile). In the meantime, Ray is retired and loving it and I'm still working and loving it! I do have plans to retire next year and then we'll begin yet another fine chapter. |
From Judy Daniel (South) I am expecting a new grandbaby in October. I only have one other and she is 17 so will have quit a gap between them (the 17 year old is my daughter's and the expected one is my son's). It was so great to see pictures of everyone and especially the pix that had NAMES below! |
From Martha Dawes (Davis) Hello everyone, I wish my husband Charley and I had decided to clean out the garage BEFORE the 40th reunion, but maybe it’s better this way, anyhoo. Gary has provided us a way to continue our reunion… I came across my ‘Scrapbook’ of our senior year, and believe me, I have material to entertain a lot of people for a long time, but I think I’ll start with these typical photos from a class trip. In this case, it was our choir/band tour to New Orleans and here you will see me, Sandy Ivie, Patsy…?, and was it Judy Daniel? mugging in one of those little photo booths. Patsy was eating my hair, Ceil was the demure one, and Sandy, who was that 4th girl behind us—I know her face (or what you can see of it). I copied Danny Kirby on this, because he recently saw my brother Joe at Alberto’s and mentioned what a shy, retiring type I was in high school—well this should put that notion to rest!! Cheers Martha |
